about

erin rachel is an artist, strategist, and social entrepreneur who uses foresight and speculative inquiry to explore the potential of complex systems. Influenced early by a love of science fiction and fantasy, she became fascinated with the power of expansive thinking and creativity to reshape how we live.

erin leads a design futures studio based in the Portland metro area, focused on helping communities and organizations envision and prototype what lies ahead. She also is the founder of an innovation platform, collaborating with leaders and teams across the private, public, nonprofit, and philanthropic sectors to explore and activate not-too-distant futures. She occasionally teaches design thinking and social entrepreneurship at local colleges and through her studio.

The intention behind erin’s work is to craft creative containers that help others reimagine what comes next. She also writes stories and songs to support the mindsets needed for what might come next. An alumna of the 2022 Tin House YA Workshop, she is currently working on her first novel and a full length musical. Learn more about her musical and dramatic works here.
